About Us
Tofauti Inn is the story of two friends, both with local soul,both loving and respecting the wonderful Makunduchi village,who wanted to create a place with a direct connection with nature and Architectural touches based on dhow furniture and local crafts.
Beyond the location facility-one cozy villa with a private kitchen,suitable for families or groups of friends,one junior suite,five double rooms and one apartment,beautiful luxuriant interior garden,swimming pool sorrounded by relaxation area,a cozy bar,a traditional terrace where you can enjoy the ocean breeze-Tofauti Inn give you a much-dreamed-on relaxation in peaceful and quiet place,but also a bunch of priceless memories.
Discover Makunduchi
The village of Makunduchi is a gem far from the mass tourism of Zanzibar, in fact there are currently only a few hotels on the beach and a residential green zone is being created nearby. It is a beautiful rural area that is looking to the future while maintaining links with the island's traditions. The characteristic red soil contrasts with the unspoilt nature. The deep green of the fruit trees. The bright colours of the women's dresses, which in the characteristic "kanga" seem to float in a slow dance as they walk.
Our commitment for the local community
Tofauti Inn has chosen to support the circular economy, with the aim of extending the life cycle of things, thereby giving value back to something that already exists. It has chosen to be a house within walking distance of the beach, in order to optimise and improve the existing facilities and not spoil the white sand beaches. It has taken advantage of recycling by choosing furniture made from used wood that has been brought back to life by the skilled hands of local carpenters, creating value and beauty. It also supports the national economy by favouring local labour and giving work opportunities to local young people.
Tofauti also pays great attention to some fragile local realities, which leads it to choose to allocate a percentage of sales to support specific projects in the area for cultural, economic and social development.
